KH2FM HD No X Button -- Sora vs Final Boss Sequence (Critical Mode, The Rest of The Bosses)
6Well, here we are. This was, like Saix and Xemnas 1, trivial -- except Final Xemnas who I have no idea how to properly fight so I just spammed with Limit Form and Reflect because neither of those requires the X Button.
Final Xemnas of course requires the X button to not die during his DM, so that would be one of the few fights in which it's technically impossible to keep my restriction.

I will be taking a break before uploading anything related to Sephiroth/Data Org/Terra, wherein my Minimalist Ventus run will be uploaded (since that was...actually higher than this on the poll that neither ended up winning, but I really wanted to do No X Button) and I will probably be taking a break from KH in general for a week or two after that so I don't get super burned out.
I'm also working on some other non-KH projects I plan to upload in the future, and they are taking a fair bit longer than I expected for a variety of reasons (such as my new PC being late -- it will be here around the 10th, apparently). So it's going to be a bit before the postgame fights get done. Apologies for the inconvenience -- but I promise not to be one of those people who just "never gets around to it." I intend to keep my word. Except for Axel, because I already have a video of myself beating him without the X Button, and I see no reason whatsoever to record a new one.
Ideally, I'll probably start uploading postgame around the end of August, or at least recording it by that point.

Q: Why aren't you using the X Button?
A: To force myself to play differently and examine other options the game gives me.
Q: Why not Level 1 No X Button?
A: I'm not confident I'd even finish the run anytime soon. Also, I'd rather show something that most players could conceivably do without tearing their hair out.
Q: If it's not Level 1, can't you just grind to take away all the challenge?
A: Nope. I'm capping my level at the lowest displayed level of any incomplete world. I will also be fighting Absent Silhouettes at the appropriate battle levels. Except Zexion. Frick Zexion.
Q: But you used the X button shortcut!
A: Damn right I did. I'm restricting myself enough by disallowing the X button. It's really more of a "No Command Menu" run anyway. No X Button just sounds cooler, even though strictly speaking it limits me less. Besides, some fights are impossible with no X and only 3 shortcuts unless I grind up to some ridiculous level.
Q: Which bosses are impossible without the X button?
A: As of right now, Twilight Thorn, Axel I, Boat Pete, Final Xemnas and Data Luxord are all impossible without the X Button.
