Killing Father and Daughter S4 Veronica Vs Ashes of Ariandel DLC
2The final boss fight of the Ashes of Ariandel DLC is not as bad as I make it out to be here. I've learned a fair bit more co-oping as this was rendering and I'm going to give what I've learned to you here in the description so HOPEFULLY someone is actually reading this.
In phase 1 & 3 (yes you heard right 3 phases) she can turn invisible, she then jumps behind you I think and then dashes forward into a grab that deals heavy damage if not outright killing you depending on vigor or ng cycle. How to avoid it? Well, you can either time it (riskier) or get near her and hit her to reveal her. I'm not sure if just being near her works btw. The other way is a bit easier to live through but kinda hard to move forward in the fight. You can see her take off and landing in the snow, so you COULD just sprint away. Problem is she stays invisible so.. good luck finding her then.
Phase 2 is a bit of a problem if you didn't summon anyone as it's a 2vs1 then. You can summon an npc that shows up at the start of phase 2 and he helps out a LOT. He almost always keeps Friede busy to allow you to burn down Ariandel. Beware though Ariandel hits extremely hard and has some huge aoe spells. He also takes more damage seemingly than Friede in this phase so focus him if possible.
Phase 3 it's back to just Friede but that doesn't really make it any easier. She's fast, aggressive, and has huge aoes that explode on a delay reminscent of a certain boss in Bloodborne's dlc. She's relentless in this phase and does lots of damage. Essentially just hit when you can and memorize how to dodge her combo. Hardest part in this phase for me was finding her when she went invisible so if you're ok with that it's more of phase 1 but more fatal.
Also.. for the love of all that is good DO NOT summon 3 folks AND the slave dude.. omg so much health. I mean I ran out of mana when this one dude did this repeatedly. We eventually won but geez.. 1 good summon helps manage aggro and doesn't completely overload her hp. The "good" part can be hard to find though I grant you. Remember quality of summons beats quantity.
