Yup did the HX-25 with stats this time, you all seemed to enjoy when I brought in stats, so might as well start doing them. Yup one of the best starting weapons in the game, pretty much this one and the medic pistol are the only 2 worth having in later rounds. For me personally at least.

So the HX by default does the job quite well (since it's purpose is to clear trash up close) but if you upgrade it, you still will be clearing trash but you can also use it for fleshpounds quite reliably. But I still do also prefer the RPG for them.
