KING OF THE HILL RULES:
The tournament consists of 4 ROUNDS and a FINAL.
Each ROUND has a maximum length of 30 minutes. There is no maximum length for the FINAL.
A ROUND is over when a player or KING achieves 5 victories in a row.
If, after 30 minutes, no KING has achieved 5 victories, the winner of the ROUND will be the KING with the highest number of victories that ROUND.
When the timer runs out, the round continues until the currently reigning KING finishes his/her reign.
In the event of a tie, all tied KINGS will battle in a FFA with the winner advancing to the FINALS.
Each ROUND starts with a 2 STOCK 1v1 between any 2 players from the CHALLENGERS section.
The winner of the 1v1 becomes KING and fights again against another CHALLENGER. The loser returns to the CHALLENGERS section.
The KING continues to fight CHALLENGERS until he/she is defeated or until he/she wins 5 games in a row.
New players may join the CHALLENGERS Section at any time.
Admission into a match is NOT GUARANTEED and based solely on a player's ability to get in before other players.
A CHALLENGER may only battle a reigning KING once during their reign (unless no other CHALLENGERS are available).
Once a KING has been dethroned or completes 5 victories, the CHALLENGER is free to challenge the next KING.
If a KING is dethroned and gains the throne again later, CHALLENGERS who have fought him/her before may challenge again.
Once a KING wins 5 games in a row, he/she is placed in the FINALISTS section and does not fight again until the FINALS.
The FINALS begin after 4 ROUNDS have been completed and 4 FINALISTS have been selected.
The 4 FINALISTS will then fight in a SINGLE ELIMINATION tournament bracket.
The first 2 matches will be 3 STOCK, BEST OF 3.
The final will be 3 STOCK, BEST OF 5.
The winner of the BEST OF 5 is the KING OF THE HILL CHAMPION.
