22One of the only SHMUPS to be marred to a racing game, Kingdom Grandprix / Shippu Mahou Daisakusen continues the proud traditions started by its predecessor with rich, highly detailed background sprites and a sense of personality not seen in any other game at the time aside from Aero Fighters; each character adding their unique flavor to the dialog and their own motivations for entering the race!
Unlike the first game, however, this one adds an element of "risk and reward" thanks to a glitch! If you press the bomb button while you perform a spin, your points for slamming into an enemy will be doubled and if you're willing to get up close and personal, your score will soar! Multiple routes also means more replay value as well. Highly recommended and here's hoping it gets ported to PS4!
