The release date for Kingdom Hearts 3 is slowly approaching and the game will soon be in our hands. But for now, Sora and Riku must embark on their new adventure in Dream Drop Distance, which was originally a 3DS game for the 10th Anniversary of Kingdom Hearts. This version of course the HD version which is part of KH 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. Sora and Riku take on their Mark of Mastery Exam by traveling through worlds that are trapped in the realm of sleep. No sooner do they enter, they get ambushed by a Phantom Ursula.
We play as both Sora and Riku throughout the whole game, giving us two different play styles. Dream Drop Distance introduces a whole bunch of new mechanics such as Dives, which is how we enter the worlds, and Flow-motion, an ability that does make abilities like high jump and glide rather pointless but I honestly find rather fun to use. It's quite a guilty pleasure of mine. Command deck makes a return, only you can't meld this time round which is a little sad. Oh well. More on new mechanics in the next part.
