I found some instructions on how to claim the Aster inheritance so in this quest I do just that. It involves finding parts to an amulet and then looting the relevant chests. I hit the jackpot during this quest and find the Harbinger's Gloves. This means I can wear them instead of the Harbinger's Vestments. That will allow me to keep my +2 sorcery bonus and wear the Robes of Lightning Attenuation. The Robes of Lightning Attenuation have an epic gem socket plus all the sockets my old gloves had, so now I can finally make use of an epic gem. I go for the 20% extra fire, ice and lightning damage one.

This equipment shuffle effectively trades 10% elemental resistance for 20% extra fire, ice and lightning damage, 45 extra mana, 16% lightning resistance and more armor, so it's a total no brainer. What's more I get the 10% elemental resistance back by equipping a new shield I found, the Staunch Talisman, so all in all this quest proved very bountiful indeed.
