Kingpin: Life of Crime playthrough Part 1
The 8th game in my FPS/RPG Hybrid Retrospective. Released in 1999 only a few months after the Columbine incident, Kingpin: Life of Crime was one of the games targeted in the video game violence hysteria surrounding the era. It was pulled off shelves in many stores due to the gratuitous nature of the game. It is now, however, widely available on Steam and GOG. The game uses the Quake 2 engine, and allows for things like shops, NPCs, inventory, which makes it qualify for this list. So how is it? No idea, this is my first time playing. So far, it is not very impressive. It's very easy to get stuck and over-powered early on. But, given the game I previously went through (Descent to Undermountain) it will take a lot for this game to break me. We do make some progress, fighting our way through two gangs, and our first 'boss fight' to get a battery for a motorcycle to open up the next portion of the game. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
