System Shock 2 playthrough Part 7 Final
0A longer session today, but we go through the entirety of the Rickenbacker, face off with the very core of The Many, and eventually deal with SHODAN herself. Had to restart today after losing half an hour to a save after death instance, but not a huge loss.
So, how is this game? Magnificent. Yes, going inside The Many is this game's version of Half-Life's Xen levels. The look of the game radically changes, you get some platforming bits, some tougher alien enemies, and a VERY annoying boss fight that keeps spawning infinite helpers. But once you power through it, there's some fantastic callbacks to the original game for the final area. Overall, the game is a blast to play. The Van Braun feels alive, there are NPCs, you get to see stories unfold, you have to fight and scrimp for supplies and survival until you start becoming a well-armed and well-stocked powerhouse. [edit] This video was in Private for a while due to a false copyright claim, and the company "INgroove" had put ads on it to monetize. Since I don't use ads, I didn't want to support that. (The claim, BTW, was that the ending cutscene in this was part of a song "Maxizulu-Flowing (Interfusion Remix)", which even if they sampled this game for the song, since I'm using the original source the copyright claim wasn't valid.) It looks to have been removed, and quite quickly, thus the video is back.
