Klonoa: Door to Phantomile any% no skips in 47:53 [Current World Record]
This time beats the previous any% no skips world record held by amoser, a 48:16, a 23 seconds improvement (he has actually improved on his WR two times before my run, by fractions of a second each. But decided to not submit them yet). It also beats my previous time by 1m33s. Cool. VOD : https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1955213220
Apparently continuing my trend of me doing only one or two runs of something but inevitably snatching WR away. Although this wasn't a super optimized category to begin with, especially compared to the any% one. And that *this* time, I'm planning on continuing the runs, for real.
I hope.
I expected this run to do far worse, as usually, in your second run ever of any period of time, you expect yourself to do better than before.
Well, technically for me, the main goal of this run was to do better at splitting. Really. And although unlike last time I seemed to be doing the stages well enough, I'm still struggling with the sudden stage to boss transition splits.
Perhaps my mind simply wasn't set on doing good, one reason why I wasn't stressed at all at any points.
Anyways, this is a much stronger run than before. I keep all the good moments of the previous run and clean a lot of mistakes, avoid deaths, better bosses, no save prompt anymore... ridiculous stuff.
Outside of simply improving my time, my main challenge next will be to have a flawless Ghadius in a run... but I know I truly won't be happy until I get that flawless splitting run.
Even though in the end, I know I'll never use the splits for myself. I'm a no splits, no timer person. I find the self-imposed lack of run information more fun that way, as it's slighty less stressful when you don't have to look at splits and monitor how your run performance is going all of the time, and more fun to rely on what you remember. It can sometimes lead to fun unexpected surprises. Thinking you have a great run when you're actually slow... but the contrary can happen ! Perhaps it will be funny to rely on other people in chat to gauge my time. But really, I only have set up the splits for you guys. Which is half the purpose of that thing anyways.
Oh, almost forgot to say that this is the first 37 min run for the category. Hopefully amoser himself gets it soon next.
