This Master of the Keep quest is over before it's even begun. Cillian Keen the beastmaster wants to get some chickens for the keep but they'll need food. I had some in my inventory so that was that, another satisfied subject.
There were no more Masters of the Keep quests to do at that point so as well as the usual ongoing activities I went off adventuring. I wanted to clear out some of the remaining loot on Gallows End and that led me to a new dungeon, Tidal Pools, a large flooded cavern where I met a new trader for the keep.
I also craft the Primal bow. I'd been putting it off as I was waiting for some decent damaging rivets to drop but they are rare. I eventually get some +20% poison damage rivets from a diplomacy trade so I went with them. I'd rather something like lightning damage but the +20% poison was already in my current bow so at least it wasn't a downgrade. If I didn't craft the bow soon the game would be over before I got a chance to try it out. Essentially it was exactly the same as my old bow but with a primal limb instead of an ebony limb. That not only made it put out more base damage but it also weakened the enemies resistance to magic, meaning I could tear through some of the stronger enemies better.
