Kotal Kahn - Osh-Tekk Ruler - MK11 - Intros
2Kotal Kahn was first playable in Mortal Kombat X (2015). Kotal is from the realm Osh-Tekk which was once ruled by his father but was merged into Outworld after it had been conquered. When his father Kotal K'etz died, Kotal became the last of his kind. The Osh-Tekk's powers come from the sun, and at some point in his life, he traveled Earthrealm and came across the ancient Mayan civilization. He defended them against the Spanish conquistadors and the Mayan's called him their god of war. When Kotal returned to Outworld he rose up in the military ranks and eventually became one of Shao Kahn's Generals. During this time he and Jade began a romantic relationship. After Shao Kahn's failed attempt to invade Earthrealm, Kotal was freed from captivity and Mileena assumed the throne. Kotal became politically active and worked unseat her with the help of D'Vorah, Reptile, and eventually Ermac. He succeeded and became Kotal Kahn emperor of Outworld. Unlike other Outworld emperors, Kotal has no interest in conquering other realms. He'd rather focus on Outworld and its problems. He also bears no grudge against Earthrealm. Kotal Kahn is a more noble leader than Outworld is used to, however, he gives no ground when it comes to harsh punishments. He ordered the Tarkatan's genocide after they sided with Mileena in the Outworld civil war. He's also apparently responsible for the death of Prince Goro during the same war and this strained the relationship between the Shokan and now Queen Sheeva.
