Rambo - One Man Army - MK11 - Intros
1John James Rambo is a fictional character who first appeared in the 1972 novel 'First Blood' by David Morrell. The character became a staple of pop culture when he was portrayed by Sylvester Stallone in the film 'First Blood' in 1982. Rambo was born in 1947 in Bowie, Arizona. and enlisted in the Army when he was 18 years old although he has stated that he was "Drafted into Vietnam". He was deployed to South Vietnam in 1966. He returned to the U.S. in 1967 and began training with the Army Special Forces in North Carolina under Colonel Samuel Trautman. In 1969 Rambo was redeployed to Vietnam and he became part of a Special Forces long-range reconnaissance patrol unit lead by colonel Trautman. This group was code named 'Baker Team' and usually consisted of eight men. In 1971, Baker Team was hit with a surprise attack and the surviving members were captured by the North Vietnamese forces. He was held at a Prisoner of War (POW) camp with other American POW's and was repeatedly tortured. He managed to escape captivity and immediately redeployed at his own request. Rambo's official military discharge was in 1974. His final rank is unknown, but its safe to assume that he was either a 1st Lieutenant or Captain. When he returned to the US he had extreme post-traumatic stress disorder and a number of American civillians hated soldiers returning from the conflict in Vietnam. This is roughly the starting point for First Blood. Rambo is known for being extremely skilled at guerrilla warfare and a loner. He possesses superior military skills, and is known to carry a large hunting knife for survival and tactical purposes. There've been five films in the Rambo franchise.
