Kratos accepts himself | God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla
God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla
Master Valhalla, master thyself.
The shore of Valhalla humbles all those who wish to enter. Kratos must cast off his armor and equipment, and instead build towards both per-attempt and permanent rewards.
Kratos will have access to all his weapons and fully upgraded skill trees at all times but must commit to a shield and path of Spartan Rage for each attempt. As you overcome the trials of Valhalla and explore its depths, you will make choices between temporary Glyphs for which Stats to upgrade, which Perks to select, which Runic Attacks to wield, and more. Each attempt can play out differently based on the rewards you choose, so keep your strategy in mind when making selections!

God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla is a separate experience from God of War Ragnarök, so you don’t need to worry about going in without certain upgrades, equipment, or story progress.
How do I access the Valhalla DLC in God of War?
You'll need to make sure your God of War Ragnarok base game has the latest patch installed, and then you'll also need to download the Valhalla DLC from the PS Store.
The DLC is free if you already have Ragnarok and you can find it by searching on the PS Store, or by scrolling down to the Add Ons section beneath the title's tile on the PS5 or PS4's
If you are concerned about narrative or gameplay spoilers, we do recommend that you finish God of War Ragnarök first as God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla serves as an epilogue to the story of the base game.
*************************************************
This is a free DLC that adds more story content, with the roguelike gameplay revolving around progressing through Valhalla, surviving as long as you can, and making the most of the temporary stats and abilities that you earn in each run (these bonuses will be removed after you die). This first stage focuses on the main quests, where you'll be picking up story-related items and fighting particular bosses.
As you progress on each run, there are many doors to choose between, which lead to different rewards. It will take multiple runs to advance the story, so don't be afraid of dying (keep in mind you're required to fail the first run to progress the story). Dying means finding yourself back in the hub area you started at. The more you play, the more permanent resources you'll unlock, which can be spent at some of the tablets found at The Shore to permanently upgrade your stats and other abilities for future runs.
After that, survive as long as possible, aiming to reach the Greece section, where a timer will begin that results in enemies being made stronger the longer the timer is allowed to run down, and kill the required number of Chosen Slain by opening the rifts and defeating the enemies that emerge. After reaching this number, make your way back out and interact with the indicated object in the outer area with the chests, which brings you to a boss fight with a particular person. You'll need to repeat this step (the fight will alter slightly each time) at least 3 more times for a total of 6 successful runs to complete the storyline.
