In this Christmas disaster series, a palpable tension in the air makes the setting a sure win even before we get to the good parts. The series is as informative as it is dramatic, making viewers sit on the edge of their seats wondering what is to come afterwards. The beautiful and scenic beaches of La Palma become the perfect ground to bring up something truly terrifying – a reality that might just be in any of our not-so-distant futures. The four episodes of the series are well-made and require your attention to deliver something goosebump-worthy.
We follow Marie Ekdal, a young scientist whose gut feeling that something sinister is going on within the cracks of the mountains and in the caves becomes more hardened the more she looks into it. Meanwhile, a family, like many others on the island, try to relax on the beautiful beaches during the holiday season. However, both of them get into a fight for survival when Marie realises that a volcanic eruption might just kill them all if they don’t take action soon.
