🔴Labyrinth 2 Is All But Guaranteed To Beat The Original Movie In One Important Way🔴
Labyrinth 2 has a couple of obstacles to overcome, but it’s already guaranteed to beat the original movie in one big and important way. Back in 1986, Muppets' creator, Jim Henson, brought Labyrinth to the big screen. Labyrinth is a musical fantasy movie mixing actors with puppets that has now become a cult classic thanks to its story, strange settings, and eccentric characters, particularly David Bowie’s Jareth. Labyrinth follows Sarah (Jennifer Connelly), a 16-year-old girl who, annoyed and frustrated over her infant half-brother Toby’s constant crying and more, angrily wishes he was taken away by the goblins from the book The Labyrinth.
To Sarah’s surprise, Jareth, the Goblin King, appears to take Toby and offers Sarah her dreams in exchange for the young boy. When Sarah refuses and regrets her wish, Jareth gives her 13 hours to solve his labyrinth and find Toby, but if she fails, Tony will be turned into a goblin. Although Labyrinth expanded to other media with books, video games, and more, it never got a proper sequel – until now. Labyrinth 2 has been in development for a couple of years now, and though it faces some major challenges, it’s also guaranteed to beat the original movie in one way.
Labyrinth is now a cult classic and a beloved movie from the 1980s, but that doesn’t mean it was a box office hit when it was released. Labyrinth got mixed reactions from critics during its release, and while most praised its visuals and Henson’s creativity, others called it a “pathetic story”, found the plot to be unnecessarily complicated, too violent (due to Toby being in danger), and some weren’t on board with the film’s overall style. Labyrinth didn’t do well with general audiences back then, either, grossing a total of $34 million worldwide against a budget of $25 million.
Despite being a box office hit in the UK, Labyrinth ultimately became a box office flop. Luckily, time has been great to it, and it has now reached cult status and gained a large following, which is, in large part, why Labyrinth was able to expand to other media before it even got a sequel. After waiting for over three decades for it, Labyrinth 2 will obviously be powered by nostalgia, which can draw enough attention to it to make it an actual box office hit, despite its critical reception.
