If you feel your Christmas period is devoid of a gritty sci-fi murder mystery to get your teeth into, then Assemble Entertainment’s Lacuna – A Sci-Fi Noir Adventure will sort you right out!
Releasing right now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5 and PS4 – with a Switch release pencilled in for 28th December – you will be jumping into the boots of investigative agent Neil Conrad, who wakes up on one fateful morning to the news of a grisly murder. Through intense questioning and clue-finding, Mr Conrad will attempt to piece together the timeline of events that led to this awful event.
In travelling to a number of pixel-art landscapes, it is entirely down to you how you approach the case – every decision you make will impact the narrative in a meaningful way, and it isn’t always the best idea to be an open book. It’s sometimes best to hold back on some information, and as they always say – keep your friends close, but your enemies closer…
With a plethora of interactable items to make use of, a number of unique characters to question, all leading to one of multiple unique endings, there’s no shortage of content to work your way through. Assemble Entertainment are also keen to do away with the more tropey aspects of murder mystery titles, such as the point-and-click control scheme and pixel hunting that can really grind the gears of gamers.
