This is part 1 of a gameplay video for Lair on the PS3.

Are modern gamers too damn lazy to learn a game before they cry about it? I'm playing this with the Sixaxis control, and for those whiners out there, there is a patch that allows you to used the analog stick to control it.

There are four kinds of gamers when it comes to this game:

1. The Bandwagon idiots who have never played the game, but bash it to be cool and go along with the crowd like the mindless drone ****s they are. This is the typical mainstream gamer out there who has no mind of his own.

2. Those who played it for two minutes, and then threw a tantrum because they would actually have to learn the game instead of it being dumbed down for them.

3. Those who played it, learned the game, played through the game, and just didn;t care for it. These are the only detractors of the game who's opinion even matters on the game.

4. Those who played the game, and liked it finding it to be perfectly playable, and even fun, because they have a mind of their own, and actually took the time to learn the complex controls.

Though I haven't played all the way through it yet, I'm enjoying Lair. I personally think the mainstream treatment of the game is deplorable. This is a prime example of why the mainstream gaming press is full of idiots who are more concerned about being cool, then reviewing games. They don;t know shit about gaming, and they shouldn't even have a f***ing job to begin with.

For those willing to learn the controls (and the game has a very in-depth training mode), you'll find essentially Panzer Dragoon meet Rogue Leader. It's not perfect, and I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's a solid experience. Yes, the Sixaxis controls are hard to get the hang of, and they aren't as accurate as an analog stick, but it feels like playing the game with a specialty controller. Once you get past all the bullshit, and look at the game, you'll find it's the same format that reviewers ranted and raved about the last two gens with Rogue Squadron, and Rogue Leader meaning it's a solidly designed flight game.

I don't know, I'm only five or six levels in right now, so maybe the last levels are terrible, and I'll be forced to eat my words, but as of right now, I don't have many complaints with this game. Yes, there are some control hiccups, and the sixaxis control is just used as a gimmick. Everything in the game could have been worked out on a controller, and it probably would have been better of the developers to make it that way, but it's still a playable learnable game, and is in no way from my view a terrible game.

If you're going to comment ant tell me how terrible it is, then at least tell me how far you got into it, so I know whether or not your opinion is a valid and well researched one, or whether or not, you're just a bandwagon idiot as previously mentioned.

BTW, check out the user reviews on Gamefaqs, and you'll see that I'm not the only person who likes this game despite what the mainstream tells me about it:

NOTE: I've noticed that I come on strong against the gaming media, but when I get worked up, I forget to mention that there are exceptions. There have been many long time reviewers over the years who opinions I do respect even when I disagree with them. That being said, I'm rather annoyed by a lot of the online gaming media, and most of my criticism it thrown their way. I really can't explain it, but I feel that a lot of professionalism has been lost over the years, and a lot of it is due to the death of the print media, and the rise in the online gaming media. I often times see a lot of ignorance coming out of a lot of the smaller, and even some of the bigger websites, and it just angers me.
