SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket has delivered a Japanese commercial communications satellite for SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation JCSAT-14 to a Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO).
SKY Perfect JSAT is a leading high-quality satellite communications operator in the Asia-Pacific region, with an array of 15 satellites. Once stage separation was issued, the first stage of Falcon 9 completed a sensational experimental landing on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship. Due to the mission’s GTO destination, the first-stage is subject to extreme velocities and re-entry heating, making a successful landing super unlikely, but they made it happen!
