Graphical comparison of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light between different versions running on an Android device.

For this comparison, I tested the version released by Square Enix in 2010 for Android, the current version (2025) released by Feral Interactive, the PC version using the Winlator v9.0 emulator, and the PC version on GameHub v2.0.6.

It is important to note that the performance of the PC versions running on Winlator and GameHub has been affected when recording the mobile screen. Under normal conditions, the performance on both emulators is 30-40 FPS with high graphics and 40-50 FPS on low, as long as you are not recording the screen.

Notable differences between versions:

Graphics: The Feral Interactive version features improvements in textures, lighting, and effects compared to the original Android version. The PC version on emulators maintains a higher graphical quality, but it depends on the performance of the device.

Gameplay and Controls: The mobile versions feature touch controls, while on PC (Winlator and GameHub) physical controls can be used for a better experience.

Performance: On the device used (Samsung Galaxy S23 FE), the Feral Interactive version runs at 60 FPS, while the original 2010 version performs at 30 FPS.

Game size:
Square Enix version (2010): 798 MB
Feral Interactive version (2025): 3.73 GB
PC version (Steam): 3.68 GB

Gameplay recorded with:

• Samsung Galaxy S23 FE
• OS: Android 14
• Screen: 6.4", 1080 x 2340 pixels
• Processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
• RAM: 8 GB
• Storage: 128 GB
