With 8 levels, players control action hero Jack Slater. There are two different types of levels, outdoors and indoors. Each level throws hordes of goons at Jack that respawn endlessly. He can defeat them by punching and kicking, or jump over them and continue on his way in outdoor levels. In the background, there will usually be more enemies, such as cops firing guns or homeless people throwing grenades. Slater moves between the indoor levels through doorways, and he sometimes has to punch in a door to continue. Most levels include boss fights against both major and minor enemies.
