Last Rites is a FPS developed and published by Ocean Software back in 1997. It was only released in Europe. Zombies have taken over the world and as a commander of Special Forces it's your mission to rescue humanity.
What we got here? We got a shooter for DOS computers, released a bit late, in 1997, and using a dated engine with very limited 3D capabilities for the time being. It has some cool stuff, like high quantities of enemies, some squadmates to help you with the killing, and the weapons don't feel bad (and you get a multi lock-on rocket launcher). But the game is extremely crippled by its level design. Levels can be either too long or too short, and they are extremely cryptic. You'll push a button and you'll keep roaming looking for the door you just unlocked, and it keep going this way... all the way through. On top of that, we got the same city level used three times with different objectives, and a couple of escort missions where the robot you are escorting dies way too fast. The game might look ok enough on your first minutes, but once you realize how the levels are... oh boy. Only recommended if you are very bored and are very curious.

Last Rites es un FPS desarrolado y publicado por Ocean Software en 1997. Solamente fue lanzado en Europa. Los zombies han tomado el mundo, y como comandante de las fuerzas especiales, es tu misión salvar la humanidad.
¿Entonces qué tenemos aquí? Tenemos un shooter para DOS, lanzado un poco tarde, en 1997, y usando un motor con capacidades 3D muy limitadas para esa época. Tiene algunas cosas que están bien, cantidades altas de enemigos, compañeros de escuadra que te ayudan con la matanza, y las armas no se sienten mal (y te dan un lanzacohetes que puede fijar varios objetivos). Pero el juego está demasiado mancillado por su diseño de niveles. Los niveles pueden ser muy largos o demasiado cortos, y son extremadamente crípticos. pulsarás un botón y te pasarás un rato buscando la puerta que ha abierto, y vas a hacer esto durante todo el juego. Además, tenemos el mismo nivel de la ciudad usado 3 veces pero con objetivos distintos, y un par de misiones de escolta en las que el robot que tenemos que proteger muere demasiado rápido. El juego puede parecer correcto durante los primeros minutos, pero una vez uno se da cuenta de cómo son los niveles.. ufff. Solamente recomendado y se estás muy aburrido y tienes mucha curiosidad.
