Lauren plays Paper Mario TTYD #6: Flurrie & the Big Tree
I'm honestly not sure this game's sense of humor is right for me. Sometimes it's very funny and absurd and charming, but I feel like every single stream there's a thing that is supposed to be funny and I just get upset about it because I think it's *vile* and not funny at all. I admittedly don't like most comedy, so this doesn't mean anything is wrong with TTYD, just that it might not be for me! The original Paper Mario took me by surprise because it was a comedy that I liked pretty much the whole way through — but it was sweet and good-natured and absurd and wacky the whole way through, too, instead of expecting me to think it's funny when people hurt each other. (I hate slapstick and sitcoms! Most people love them! This is a Lauren thing!)
Anyway, we'll keep going and see what happens next. There is a lot of charm in the game, I'm just not sure if it will wind up working for me overall. And I don't think anyone wants to watch me play a game I am having a bad time with, so if this continues, I might stop. We'll see. I'm so sorry! I would love to have the continued adventures of Goombella and friends. So, fingers crossed.
