109The world's slowest DE run continues! Once again we had internet troubles so this had to be patched together. I was really, really engaged in the game this time; there's a lot of delicate nuance to the characterization and the world-building, and the puzzle to be solved is frankly tantalizing because I've now gotten *just* enough of a glimpse at the pieces on the board to suspect there's a lot more under the surface. As always, please don't explain things to me, or confirm/deny anything — look, I have a nice pretty background explaining that now! ♥ If you feel like sticking around to the end, we talk about how this game is humanizing everyone, even unsympathetic people like Measurehead himself, and how that continues to give me faith that I can trust the writers. The conversation with the Scab Leader was a particularly interesting one, even if I wound up a bit frustrated with myself afterward for being too cautious to push the man — as I explain on-stream, I built my character partly to overlap with my own skillset so things would be less frustrating for me, and we're already seeing how and why that works with this use of a Rhetoric skill. Everything is extremely intentionally, beautifully crafted in their word choice and characterization. I keep playing games by people who have mastered the written word and it is both inspiring and intimidating to me, as a storyteller of sorts myself!
