Yeah, there's 20 minutes of talking about things before the game starts, but maybe some of it will be of interest to you! There's also a lot of really interesting stuff (IMHO) that we covered in the game this time. Calling the main character's precinct and talking to his colleagues and his partner really paints a picture. It's really effective, it's tragic, it's painful, it's humanizing. Good stuff. I'm really glad that I was able to see that extra scene after hanging up; that context is really important to my understanding of what's going on and of these otherwise-caricature people who I've mostly just seen engage in mockery and bullying. But (surprise, surprise) Disco Elysium believes that humans are fully rounded creatures with good and bad sides, and I'm always glad to be reminded of that.
And yeah, there's that rant in the middle where I got really worked up, but I stand by what I said.
