Lays Potato Chip Challenge l Potato Chips Mashed Potatoes | Easiest Mashed Potatoes EVER
66YOU CAN MAKE MASHED POTATOES WITH A BAG OF CHIPS 😱 WHAT?!?!
Okay, so I may be late to the game with this but I just saw this on Facebook and I had to try and wanted to take you all on the journey with me. So, this recipe is for Lays (or really any chips) mashed potatoes.
Here are the steps if you want to try:
1️⃣ Bring 2 and a half cups of water to a boil (it is 1 cup of water per 3 ounces of chips - this bag of Lay's was 8 ounces so I used 2 and a half cups of water)
2️⃣Pour your entire bag of chips into the boiling water (you can add some flavor to it by doing different flavors of chips like sour cream and onion, etc)
3️⃣Lower the heat to medium-low. Stir and crush the chips into the water. I probably stirred for about 8 minutes total before the water started being fully absorbed. You will see the consistency change and it becomes more like mashed potatoes.
4️⃣Once you reach desired consistency add about a tablespoon of sour cream and half a cup of milk and mix it until it is absorbed (you can also use butter or half and half). There is no need for salt because the chips are already salted.
5️⃣Enjoy
I was kind of skeptical when watching this hence the reason I had to try it and share my experience with you all but honestly, it is really really good. It reminded me of mashed potatoes you would get at a place like Chilis or Applebees and it was such an easy recipe and was super quick to make.
