Healing Brush Tool
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The Clean Up Brush is very powerful tool that allows you to clean up and enhance images. Generally, the tool will be best used for photographs of people, and the higher the quality of the photo, the more powerful your tool becomes.
1. To access the Healing Brush Tool tool click and hold the "bandaid" icon in the tool bar, then click on the Healing Brush Tool. Do not click the Spot Healing Brush. That is a different tool with similar effects that has its own video.2. Once you have selected the Healing Brush Tool, zoom in on a spot on your image that you want to change. In the video, Justin chooses to remove a mole on the ear in the photograph, so he samples a piece of skin as close to the mole as possible.3. Press and hold Alt (Option for Mac) and your cursor will turn into a crosshair. While holding the keyboard button, click with your mouse on the area you wish to clone (which is the word for copying the content you wish to use), then let go of Alt or Option.4. Now, with the mouse click over the area you wish to get rid of. 5. You can also perform this task with brush strokes. Simply press and hold Alt or Option, then click with your mouse and drag over the area you wish to touch up (while still holding Alt or Option). 6. The top Options panel allows for some customization of your Healing tool, which includes Brush Size and Softness, Compositing Modes (which can have different effects for added subtlety), Source Options and Layer Options (which is important if you're working with multiple layers). Unless the All Layers option is selected, you might sample a piece of your image that you didn't want.Try this tool out for yourself on a picture of yourself.
