Legend of Grimrock - 7: New Enemy - Warden
0Holy shit, this one can take quite the beating! But this monster is not much different then the Ogre. So as long as there is only one, they are pretty easy to defeat.
Wow, what a great game!
This is an example of an Indi game that's very well done! Awesome graphics, beautiful dungeons - which look even better in 3D, a great musical score and pretty good sound effects.
But what's more important: clean and easy, but complex and highly addicting gameplay. A modernized old-school RPG.
In this game you control 4 characters at the same time; in real time. Movement is only possible as a group, which takes up one tile - and like in older games you can move only one tile at a time; same as the enemy! So the trick is not to get boxed in, positioning your heavily armored fighters in the front and your ranged fighters (Hunter / Mage) in the back. Beware: the ones in the back cannot use melee weapons! (except spears^^)
But a lot of times you aren't even fighting; just searching for some small, obscure button to open a hidden room; collecting the valuable loot inside! Or you are trying to figure out the next puzzle to continue the game; like removing all torches in a room. Or figuring out some riddle from a scroll you picked up.
And as strange as that is for me to say (I'm not much of an adventure-gamer): this is really fun and addictive!
