Like 1987's Dungeon Master and 1991's Eye of the Beholder before it, Legend of Grimrock is a "dungeon crawler" that tasks you with leading a party of four through treacherous dungeons one floor at a time while solving puzzles and combating the evil creatures within. In this video, I discuss the game's mechanics and lead you through the first level using a pre-made party consisting of two Fighters, a Rogue, and a Mage. Although Grimrock is oldschool at heart, its excellent audio, visuals, and even controls and interface make the game accessible even to complete newcomers. Words of wisdom scribbled on walls provide clues to help solve puzzles and combat is tactical and board game-like but very easy to grasp and be successful at.
