I decided to record some HD gameplay of PSone games using my HDMI capture box, so I hooked my PS3 up to my Clearclick and used ti to record some 1080p gameplay of two games. This is the second of those two games. This is Legend of Legaia. I did color correction and image sharpening to this to improve the visual quality.

Legend of Legaia is a unique RPG for the Playstation. For the most part, it is a fairly standard turn based affair, but the combat system is centered around the idea of fighting game mechanics. As such, all of your attacks are made up of a combo of high and low kicks and punches. You can input them in special sequences to carry out special moves called arts, similar to how fighting games work. It is very cool and unique.

The world in Legend of Legaia is full of creatures that man has often struggled to take down, so the gods gave man the gift of the Seru, who are sentient creatures that double as weapons and armor. They greatly increase the strength of the wearer. That all changed when the dreaded mist rolled in. It caused the Seru to turn against their masters.

In the game, you play as a young man named Vahn. It is one day before he is old enough to join the other adults on their regular hunt for food. Rim Elm is protected from the mist outside by huge walls that surround the city. The hunters venture out into the mist to search for food, risking their own lives for the good of the town. What is the source of the mist? Can it be gotten rid of? How will humanity survive in such a harsh world? Find out in this wonderful RPG full of interesting locations, great music, fun characters, an intriguing plot and excellent battle mechanics. Legend of Legaia is underrated!
