Returning to Legend of Zelda series once again, this time, I am playing a certain title I wanted to do so for years, and is the first ever time playing. It is Link's Awakening, the very first handheld game of the franchise for the original Game Boy back in 1993. Taking place directly after Link to the Past, after the defeat of Ganon, Link is stranded on a faraway Island after being knocked unconscious during a severe storm, and he needs to awaken the Wind Fish (which is the giant egg in the title screen) by retrieving 8 instruments in order to return back to Hyrule.

If this Zelda game feels like the previous SNES game, it's because it was made by the same developers and was originally intended as a handheld port of that game before becoming its own IP. Link's Awakening is also unique due to more so than LTTP and OOT, it has a LOT of references/cameos of other Nintendo games, specifically Super Mario! I was originally going to pick the full-colored DX version of GBC, but I went to the GB original solely because this version came first and is a historic game in its own right.

This video is just up to the first dungeon, but I already can tell this game is a masterpiece, probably the best Game Boy game...
