LEGO Ideas Mickey Mouse Steamboat Willie 21317 Review!
Join me as I review LEGO Ideas 21317 Steamboat Willie, a 751 piece set based on 1928 Disney cartoon Steamboat Willie with black and white Mickey and Minnie Mouse LEGO minifigures. LEGO's Steamboat Willie is based on a Máté Szabó fan build and gets a significant upgrade as Mickey Mouse's S.S. Willie paddle steamer gains moving chimney funnels, turning paddle wheels and a working cargo crane complete with potato bin!

Steamboat Willie is the 25th LEGO Ideas set but due to a misprint, the first run of sets is labelled 24 which matches the LEGO Ideas Flintstones set. The 21317 set in this video is one of the LEGO Steamboat Willie misprints which is less rare than you might think. As well as the Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse minifigures, we also have a black and white parrot as featured in the 1928 short by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks.
LEGO introduced some really nice features to this $90 Disney-themed LEGO Ideas set celebrating 90 years since the release of Steamboat Willie in which Mickey Mouse and girlfriend Minerva (Minnie) Mouse made their first public appearance. On opening the LEGO set, you see a lot of brightly colored LEGO elements, yet the final model is a black and white model with gray and silver accents. All of the colored LEGO elements are hidden neatly away inside the build and makes this LEGO Ideas set a great build!
Accessories include Minnie Mouse's guitar, Mickey and Minnie's hats, a 2x2 printed LEGO tile featuring music from Turkey in the Straw and printed tiles celebrating the 1928 release of Steamboat Willie.
