LEGO Flintstones 21316 Unboxing, Speed Build & Review!
Join me as I review the 21316 LEGO Flintstones set, the 24th LEGO Ideas set featuring Fred Flintstone, Wilma Flintstone, Barney Rubble and Betty Rubble minifigures but no Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm or Dino! This 748 piece set is based on sixties cartoon show The Flintstones and features a LEGO Flintstones house, Fred's car with bronto ribs and mailbox complete with printed LEGO Flintstones element.

The 21316 Flintstones LEGO Ideas set is based on a fan submission from British ex-pat Andrew Clarke and it's fair to say a lot has changed. We're missing a Welcome to Bedrock sign, Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm LEGO minifigures, bird-powered record player, dino-powered lawn mower and a plinth for Fred Flinstone's car.
The LEGO Flintstones house is a great recreation and looks awesome from the outside. The garden comes complete with LEGO foliage and a really neat LEGO palm tree set at a jaunty angle. The roof is set aan angle and really looks like the house from The Flintstones TV show. Internally, it's disappointing and misses the opportunity to included some of the labor-saving devices we expect to see in The Flinstones with wise-cracking animals taking on jobs such as washing dishes or vacuuming the floors.
The LEGO Flintstones from the 21316 LEGO Ideas set is a great build but does lack a hole in the bottom so it can be driven "courtesy of Fred's two feet". Fred's car includes a drive-in tray and large rack of LEGO ribs. You can even recreate the scene from The Flintstones credits where Fred's car tips over because of the weight of those ribs. Fred's car has a really neat custom fabric top and is a great addition to this 2019 LEGO Flintstones set.
The LEGO Flinstones minifigures include Fred, Barney, Wilma and Betty but we're missing a Pebbles Flintstone Minifigure, Bamm-Bamm Rubble, Dino the Dinosaur and Baby Puss, The Flintstones' "cat" a sabre toothed tiger. The quality of LEGO Flinstones minifigures is very good with the exception of Barney who should be considerably shorter than Fred but is the same size. LEGO make short legs and I don't really understand how the designers missed this important detail.
The Flintstones' LEGO home features a removable roof for easy play, an opening front door, curtains and curtain rails, sofa, TV with aerial, kitchen sink, table and phone, fireplace, painting element on the wall, coffee table with fruit bowl and fruit elements, buildable floor lamp and lampshade, crate with a bowling ball and 3 bowling pin elements, plus a green garden baseplate with a buildable palm tree, 2 flower pots, flowers, plants and 2 milk bottle elements.
I hope you enjoy this LEGO Ideas unboxing, speed build and review video of the Flintstones 21316 set. If you do, please consider dropping a like and don't forget to subscribe and ring the bell for more awesome LEGO reviews.
