LEGO Ninjago Movie Piranha Attack Unboxing, Speed Build & Review
Hi LEGO fans! Here's my review of Piranha Attack, the new LEGO Ninjago Shark Army piranha mech from The LEGO Ninjago Movie. This is one of the new 2018 LEGO Ninjago Movie sets that went on sale in the US and Canada on December 1st 2017. In this LEGO 70629 review of Piranha Attack we unbox and speed build the Shark Mech and review this new Ninjago set in crisp 4K ultra high definition.
The LEGO Ninjago Piranha Attack set contains 217 LEGO elements and includes four minifigures from the LEGO Ninjago Movie: Kai, Misako (badly printed in her Iron Dragon costume), a Shark Army Thug and Ray the rickshaw driver. We've seen the Iron Dragon Misako (AKA Koko) minifigure before in Cole's Quake Make and it is an awesome minifigure but spoiled by the facial printing which is very weak. The face is printed onto a black minifigure head and looks really washed out.
The Shark Army Piranha mech is much smaller than some of the other mechs we have seen from LEGO's Ninjago Movie sets but comes in at a very attractive price of $20 which is much more affordable to a wider range of Ninjago fans. It's essentially a mechanized piranha with two legs and a large opening mouth which reveals a seat for a Shark Army minifigure to sit in and control the Ninjago piranha mech. There are a pair of flick missiles for interactive fun and the whole thing looks quirky and is good fun to play with.
We also get a LEGO rickshaw pulled by the alarmed-looking Ray who is dressed in traditional Japanese costume complete with conical hat. The rickshaw is simply constructed but comes with some really nice elements including large LEGO carriage wheels, lanterns and some car hood elements joined together to make the rickshaw's roof.
