LEGO Japan Co., Ltd. announced that it will begin taking pre-orders for the “LEGO® Game Boy™,” a detailed reproduction of Nintendo’s portable game console “Game Boy” that revolutionized gaming history, using LEGO blocks, from 10:00 a.m. on July 25, 2025, and will go on general sale from October 1, 2025.
This product is a LEGO set for adults that faithfully reproduces the original Game Boy released in 1989 on a scale close to the real thing, approximately 1:1.
It consists of a total of 421 parts, and includes familiar control buttons such as the cross button, A/B button, START/SELECT button, and even the main body details such as the contrast adjustment dial and volume adjustment dial are meticulously reproduced.
In addition, as an element that stimulates nostalgia, a cartridge slot is installed on the back, and two types of cartridges for “The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening” and “Super Mario Land”, which are reproduced using LEGO blocks, are provided.
The parts corresponding to the LCD screen can also be replaced with parts that reproduce the game screen in addition to the boot screen with the “Nintendo” logo.
