From March 2010 to September 2010, I participated in the beta testing of LEGO Universe. I have compiled the screenshots I have taken during testing for the world to see.

Maelstrom Trench is home to many Stromling Pirates and the occasional Stromling Admiral. One must be careful whilst fighting here, since the treasure chests explode on contact.

Here, you can see the original Toby Squidbarrel, who looked this way in alpha testing, beta testing, and even founder's release. Unfortunately, this veteran did not survive past that and was eventually replaced.

Beta Notes:
0:00 Beta GUI. Beta Passport. Rank 1 Buccaneer Shirt throws crabs at enemies.
0:05 Beta Nexus Force Plaque template. Different text. The Nexus Force Plaque and Renee Tombrcrusher were found on a platform on the opposite site of the trench.
0:10 The original Toby Squidbarrel hiding in a smashable barrel (changed in Frostivus update). He is unnamed and identified as "Hiding Pirate".
0:15 Beta Venture League Token.
0:20 A different image of Bob cheering is displayed upon completing missions.
0:25 Different dialogue.
0:30 Mission dialogue in Passport.
0:45 Renee Tombcrusher's last name is not identified, and her occupation is listed as simply "Venture Explorer".
0:50 Renee Tombcrusher has a cheerier expression when idle.
0:55 Different dialogue.
1:10 Different dialogue. Mission displays beta Arrrthur Arrrbuckle.
1:15 Different dialogue. Mission displays beta Johnny Thunder.
1:30 Summoner Robes are gloveless (changed in Starbase 3001 update).
2:00 A red ninja holding a banana is displayed in the Mission Indicator.

Music is "Swords Crossed" by Klaus Badelt from "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl". Dark and even a little frightening, this music seemed fitting for Maelstrom Trench.
