【連縁/Len'en】Rei-kun Boss Battle Showcase (UNREAL difficulty) [CC]
38Decided to do a battle showcase of Rei-kun (strategy is listed before). There are slow-downs in SFX and I can't do anything about it, sorry
Surprisingly, Unreal difficulty is, actually, difficult. To be fair, you do need to farm for Spell Enhancement Memories, but even with upgraded spells, Unreal difficulty can be a bit daunting (it's not like I couldn't beat any other bosses beside Rei-kun on this difficulty)
Rei-kun has 7 times more HP than their Hard difficulty version and with their inherent trait, they can destroy your team in 2-4 turns with poor management. However, their inherent trait is also their weakness since they're weak against special attacks.
Reccomended Units:
Aoji (Rearguard) - Nuke (has an advantage against Rei-kun)
Tsubrubami (Rearguard) - Support
Tsubakura (Middleguard) - Pre-emptive attacker. Replace one of the moves with Thunder God Sword.
Hooaka (Middleguard) - Main DPS (fire attack which is neutral and water attack which is strong against Rei-kun)
Clause/Santa Clause/Yabusame/Yabusame[Chef] (Vanguard) - Aggro (Clause is better due to lower cost of flashbomb to reduce damage)
Rei-kun (Depth 3|Vanguard) - Sub-DPS. Replace duplicates of Monochrome Rays with Thunder God Sword and Crimson Lotus Sword for better coverage (Water Baloon is also a solid choice, albeit with lower range)
Rei-kun's AI is surprisingly very simple and easy to exploit. They will target the unit with most HP and usually won't resort to using Monochrome Ray unless all the units on the same row. That's why I used Tsuba for pre-emptive
strike since Rei-kun won't outright kill the opponent with low HP (resorting to using Rei-kun Beam or Vomit-Punching someone else), though it is reccomended to have DEF core mutation for survival (I didn't have it so...), after the strike - use them as a sniper with Abrasive Jet. Always buff Hooaka until Aonuke's spell is ready to take the huge chunk of Rei-kun's HP, Hooaka also needs to be further from Rei since they don't have the greatest defence. Clause can stand in-front of Rei-kun for aggro and Rei-kun can also tank hits as well and attack them with Balloon/Thunder Sword/Crimson Sword. Please keep in mind that I did have my skills upgraded (normal spells are upgraded to maximum level) and while some I couldn't upgrade fully (character exclusive spells), it's still important to have at least upgrade normal spells and Aonuke's (Blue Wind) before you face them
