This year, Kwalee's mobile teams shifted from hypercasual development and publishing to a new 'hybrid' model as the marketing landscape rapidly changed, requiring developers and publishers in the space to make big changes in the games that they are making. We've learned a lot during that transition and this talk focuses specifically on what's changed inside our departments to transform a company structured on launching bite sized games as quickly as possible using ad monetisation, to a company building bigger games with longer retention tails and engagement with deeper gameplay systems and corresponding monetisation.
