run past it as they throw, then hook behind it to the oposite side that you ran past it, that'll cause such a sharp angle it'll lose its tracking, go out of orbit and keep going till it hits an obstacle, meaning whoever threw it may have to wait a long time for it to return, if you get it down you could even do this fast enough to hit them in their throw animation. It may not be foolproof but it's a possible counter technique. May work well in the tower too, will test it next time I see a medusa hater in a wide open space
