Games often intend to draw us in so completely that we forget there is a world outside of the game. Identity permeability in games (bleed) suggests that there is no pause button on identity and in-game learning can affect players across two realities. This talk will look at examples of bleed and outline the relationship between the safety of the magic circle, the transformative power of bleed, and the role of educators in bridging the gap between games and reality.
