Let's Derp! Part 7: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion : I Am The Law!
Welcome to Let's Derp, a Let's Play without the continuity! This series will have me play one random game a week from a variety of genres. Feel free to suggest a title; if I can get my hands on it then I might well play it! Depending on the popularity of each game, I may even consider doing a full fledged L.P of it some time in the future.
Welcome to another installment of Let's Derp - this time with 10% more mayhem, the by-product of a sleep-depraved host! Today we're returning to Tamriel in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, an action RPG, developed by Bethesda Softworks, available for 15 Euro on Steam. You (as per tradition) are a prisoner, placed behind bars for some unknown act of felony (in all likelihood, stealing a tomato) when you are offered liberty by Emperor Uriel Septim, who believes that you are destined to be the saviour of Tamriel. The Emperor however, is murdered by the Mythic Dawn, a cult who wish to open the realm of Oblivion and allow Mehrunes Dagon, the Daedric Prince of Destruction, to rule Tamriel. The Emperor, before he dies, bequeaths to you the Amulet of Kings, an ancient amulet which can prevent the Mythic Dawn from accomplishing their aims by lighting the Dragon Fires which separate the realms of Oblivion and Tamriel. He then bid you see Jauffre, who alone knows the location of the Emperor's only surviving heir, Martin Septim, who can relight the Dragon Fires. What you do then, is wholly up to you. You can elect to pursue the main quest, or you can choose to explore Cyroiil and carve your name onto the pages of history.
However, we do none of this. Instead, our prisoner-turned-vigilante follows the rocky road to the Imperial City, enforcing the law as he goes. Whether he gets the chance to flush out the bandits in the mountains however, is up to you. Let me know if you'd like to see more of this, and it'll be done!
