An often overlooked title from Accolade, the also-ran sports giants struggling against the juggernaut that would become EA Sports, Brett Hull Hockey nonetheless is a fun and enjoyable game. It features support for the Gravis Gamepad (Multiple buttons!) and had play by Al Micheals.

Unfortunately, unlike Hardball, Brett Hull Hockey didn't have quite the depth to it. There was no customization options or player editing like with Accolade's previous Hardball titles (probably stemming from the NHLPA but not the NHL license). In a way, it's sort of a throwback to NHLPA '93, where the league logos and such were contracted out differently.

The game features wrist shots and slap shots, as well as one-timers and all the usual tricks. All being said, I wouldn't have been entirely unhappy finding this game under the Christmas Tree. Sure, NHL '95 was better, but Brett Hull put in a solid performance.
