0Time for a playthrough of Lorelai, an indie psychological horror adventure game from Harvester games. The game is a coming-of-age story about a young girl trying to escape the horrors in her life ,find her place in the world and full fill her dreams.
This is the third and final instalment of their "Devil Came Through Here" trilogy of games.
I have played the first game of the trilogy "The Cat Lady",ages ago and i was hooked. So i wanted to check more games from this unique developer. The second game is the "Downfall (2016)" .
The game has a really unique aesthetic, with the moody sepia tones on colours, animation that looks like cardboard cut out characters and use of real photos with hand drawn graphics. This create a creepy atmosphere that feels like a strange story book, an adult grim fairy tale. The graphics become better and more well defined with each new game from the developers.
The voice acting is excellent, with some stand out performances from the protagonist Aisy Kay as Lorelai. There are many guest voice acting from well known youtubers/voice actors like Yong Yea and Jim Sterling and returning actors from previous games.
Controls are a bit clunky and the resolution of the game is a bit..."old school" but overall this is the best game on every technical standpoint from the whole series.
Overall the game is really worth it for fans of horror adventure games and has excellent soundtrack that really fits the mood of the game.
