In our "Let's Hack" series, we are going through the process of in-depth hacking for FF6. This is advanced hacking! But I make an effort to describe the tools and process used to accomplish the hacking so that up-and-coming hackers can learn how to do this themselves!
This week we started making a patch for updating the much-neglected Desperation Attack (DA) mechanic. We were able to walk through the algorithm that determines if the DA is used, increase its frequency to 100% (for now), and make a small edit that chose a different attack for each character if they were above or below "near fatal" status.
