How often do you get the chance to stop a war in an RPG video game? I have to admit that this has always been one of my favorite parts of the game. Just pick up the Crystals of Peace in the Luze Ruins and then show them to the King of Telaine - and the threat of war is history!

Afterward, it's time to track down the apprentice who beat us to the Sky Rune. The key is to use your Wind Rune to teleport to all the various towns in the game, then step outside to see if the town glows on your Crystal Ball. If it glows, the Sky Rune apprentice is PROBABLY there. However, other runes will also still show up on the Crystal Ball, such as Prosa's Moon Rune. So you really have to search each town that glows to see whether it's the Sky Rune or one of the other runes you haven't gotten yet.

The Dragon is weak against Ice magic, but in this party we don't need it. With the Fire Cloak, Star Rune and Ifrit's Temper spell, this beast is a real pushover!

SPECIAL NOTE: Yes, it *is* possible to make it to Luze first and find the Sky Rune after you beat the Dragon. But it's very hard to pull off; you pretty much have to sprint through the entire first half of the game, stopping only in a few key locations do to some quick level-grinding (i.e. lots of Brains around Pell and Guntz, plus the Stone Brains near Luze). For this reason, I like to just assume that another apprentice is "supposed" to beat you to the Sky Rune, so as not to rest too many hopes on the extreme luck and skill required to get there first.
