The last video of my ARK series. I take my 5 Dodo Birds out for some combat! A good way to end the series as the game has finally run it's course for both Splootch and I. While I fully recommend the potential of ARK: Survival Evolved, I don't recommend it right now. A ton of stuff needs to change and a ton of things need to be fixed. :( I'm gonna rant a bit below. Heh!

I think this may be our last Hurrah into the world of ARK. While the game was a lot of fun, there was so much BS to put up with. It's one of the most frustrating and infuriating games I, or Splootch has ever played. So many problems have popped up due to lag, poor coding, or whatever, that it's simply not worth the time, energy, or effort anymore. Couple all that with HAVING to play just to maintain so no one destroys all you've built, or your animals don't starve is a bit lame. I wish there was like a vacation setting or something, so you can take a break and not have to start over. Honestly, if the developers focused more on what people wanted and less on adding new stuff, ARK may have ended up being one of the best open world survival games ever made. Sadly, the game was never optimized and while it runs "better" than it did at the start, it's still a lagfest with a few minutes of fairly decently play and then a lock up for 10-25 seconds. Rinse and repeat. They made it less constantly laggy and now with one big larger lag, every few minutes. Maybe when/if it ever releases out of Early Access they'll have it fixed, but I have my doubts. I mean...why would you NOT have a stable build before adding new stuff...seems like the most important part was overlooked since conception. A smooth running game. I've spent hours with ARK and I've had a lot of fun, but most of it was spent hoping they'd fix the game, to make it better... Ahh well, at least I got to end on a high note of the March Of Dodos! :) Hopefully they fix the game and maybe we'll return, but until then, nope.

What is Ark: Survival Evolved?

I'll keep this simple. Ark: Survival Evolved is a multiplayer survival game set on an island infested with dinosaurs and various other pre-historic creatures. Find food and water, battle against the heat and cold, form a tribe or murder other tribes on sight, tame and ride dinosaurs or harvest them for food and hide, and so very much more. For a survival game there's SO much more than just pvp and the servers seem to be capped out at 70 players, so over population probably isn't going to be an issue. Good luck!

My thanks to the folks at the mysterious and enigmatic Studio Wildcard for putting together this insanely addictive and insanely fun game. Ark has been a blast and I'm looking forward to whatever comes next!
