BMX XXX was supposed to be the third game in the Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX series, following the relative success of the first two games. However, somewhere along the line, the game was rebranded with a lewd, rude and crude attitude, with dick jokes, stereotypes, misogyny, and more added in an attempt to be edgy. Needless to say, Dave Mirra pulled his likeness from the game and Z-Axis, the developers, lost all the sponsorship and sales they would have gotten otherwise.

BMX XXX is basically Dave Mirra 2.5, featuring the same massive levels, types of challenges, tricking systems, and physics systems as well. A few key additions, though, include a balance bar, a flatland system, and...well...the whole shitty aesthetic in the first place. What the hell, guys?
