0Now we take a blood sample from Mordecai. As we head into the mines again and reach Dr. Cassius' lab, we learn from Vaughn a story about how a group of Dahl miners ended up trapped after a cave-in. We reach the labs and Hector unleashes gas within the facility. We go through venting the gas until we reach the center of Cassius' operation. The blood sample we obtained was ruined so we'll have to get an entirely new one from Cassius himself who reveals that he's been mutated. After a boss fight, we take Cassius' blood sample and have analyzed so that Tannis can synthesize a cure. Before we head onto the final mission, we collect some ECHO logs about Hector and his mining coalition. Apparently they were the lost miners trapped in a cave-in. They were promised paradise and Dahl gave them crappy jobs mining on Pandora. When they found alien artifacts, Dahl promised them promotions and pay raises. Instead, Dahl collapsed the mines on top of them while they were celebrating then sealed the mines leaving Hector and his men for dead. It was Dr. Cassius who found them years later.
