187The Brotherhood of Nod hoped to destroy the reputation of GDI, followed by the organisation itself once the funding ran out. It's been difficult, with times where we've taken run-down, half destroyed bases and tried to make them self-sufficient and capable of protecting the area they're in. NOD certainly gained a respite from GDI where they've tried and fortify their position and spread their strength across Europe. So far however they've failed in the ultimate goal of their ruse; GDI not only endured. Not only that, they've made gains on NOD and continued the fight even despite the best efforts of NOD to undermine them... so far.
If Kane and the brotherhood are to be defeated, we cannot fail here. If we can show that we're strong enough to defeat them even when weakened, imagine what can be achieved if UN funding is restored. Imagine indeed...
