Let's Play Cat Quest #25: Postgame Loose Ends
Drakoth has been defeated and the land saved, but there are still yet MORE things we can do, though not a lot. A couple of quests remain and a handful of caves that we haven't cleared and I think it's time to finally get everything done so we can say that the game is absolutely and totally complete.
*Slowly pushes New Game+ out of view*
Cat Quest was a game that I'd known about for a while which I'm sad I've only gotten around to playing now as it's huge fun. The plot isn't the strongest and many of the quests ultimately boil down to 'go to X, kill everything there', but the core gameplay look is a fun one. Combat is quick and frantic while allowing you many options on how to equip yourself and play. Then there's the puns, oh the puns. Many were they and all of them were purrfect. The graphics were nice and vivid, the music memorable while only having a limited number of tracks and the controls were very tight. All in all, it's a fine first entry in a series that may lack in depth but not fun, which is most important. I wholeheartedly recommend the game to people looking for a silly little adventure with heroic cats and pawfuls of content, both in the base story and the new game+.
Will I play the sequel? I'm certainly open to the idea.
Will I play it alone or with a friend if I did? Now, that would be telling...
So, what's next? There are a couple of genres that I've played very few games in despite some of them being near and dear to my heart. With that in mind, let's remedy that somewhat by playing the sequel to a game that took the world by storm when it came out from a developer that made some of my childhood favourites which is sadly no longer with us.
See you next let's play!
